Awesome.

I think the 20s are really going to hurt your 1/4. When you ran the 16.2 was that with 20s also? How is your traction taking off the line? The 410s probably help alot im sure.

If you have the old style volant recent posts have shown that you might be actually gaining very little HP compaired to the stock setup. Volant just came out with a new system that is suppoed to be better. I like my K&N FIPK personally.

Most people have quoted anywhere from .4-.6 gains with 410s, what gears did you have stock? And were those the gears you made the 16.2 on?

Have any kind of tuning? Ill throw out a mid to high 15s run with good traction

Depending on the overall diameter of the rear tires, you may need more than 4.10's (4.56's) as the 4.8 is a great motor but it need to be able to wind up to do its best in a 1/4 mile.

DUDE! We have heard you a MILLION times. Give it up. You are the only one on here promoting 4.56 gears for normal street driven truck. Give it up oldtimer. These are the 4L60 days! Not th400 with "no OD"

Look at the fastest truck list. There is not even ONE person running 456s.

Hey slo, why dont you fill us in on YOUR NBS 4l60 setup and gears. And what times you are running the 1/4.

A 4.56 gear is actually what some of these trucks should be running in the 1/4. I wouldn't run one if you planned on spraying but, a n/a truck could use the gearing. Anything trapping below say 115 range n/a could probably benefit as long as traction was there. On the street you'd be taching about 500rpm higher(30.5" tire) than a stock automatic Fbody with 26" tires and 3.23 gears. That could get a little old I'd imagine. I personally wouldn't go to 4.56 gears for a street truck(gas mileage, exhaust at 3000rpm on highway , etc.) but, one that was built for the track would get them. I assumed a 28" slick and 6500rpm redline for a heads/cam engine.

I think the 4.10 is a decent compromise.

BIG VINCE - Whatever power you're making from your mods is probably getting sucked up by the 20's. The JBA headers really don't help much. The only things that help are probably the exhaust, gears, and programmer. Depending on how the weather was I'd say you are probably running right where you should be with those mods.

Traction on the street would be NON EXISTANT even with a stock stall and 4.56. I wouldn't recommend them for anything but, a true strip truck that maybe got driven on the street some.

Like I said they would be good for an all out strip truck though.

The 410s probably gave you a little faster time but maybe the 20s cancel that out. The new volant is good. Tuning is computer tuning. Like hypertech handhelds or full out custom tunes like a Nelson tune. I pulled a second off my 1/4 with just the hypertech tuning and raising the shift points
