Default My 4.8 has a broken piston

I just got the word from the dealer, #5 piston is broken and the walls are scared. They are going to try to get a new motor out of the warranty co instead of just fixing it. Maybe if all goes well, I can get a 6.0 out of the deal.
Shop to be named upon completion. So far they get an A+

Who is doing the repair work? Screw getting a new GM crate motor, have a badass one built for the same money! At least a 6.0L!!!

Escalade crate engine 6.0L would be a nice choice Its about $3500 from GM, probably $4000 to an aftermarket warranty though

Do you think they would let you pay the difference over a 4.8 to get a new 6.0?

That is what I'm hoping for. I still am not sure if they will even replace it yet. The warranty adjuster has yet to see it. He may not go for a new one. I definently don't what to have to just get a repair, but I'm at their mercy right now. I'm going up there to get pics tomarrow.
