Default My DOD AFM Elimination Project

About a year ago I decided to start researching eliminating the DOD. My truck is a 2007 Silverado 5.3 LY5. After a lot of reading and considering what the end result should be I decided to take on the project. I am almost done. I decided to put up a few teaser pictures. As you can see a simple cam swap has gone way too far. I should be done this weekend. I will post a series of pictures and parts that I used.

Nice work! More specs on cam/springs, and all other parts used.

I should be doing this shortly on my '07 tahoe, although not that extreme. Mine will be staying in the vehicle. If you have any tips or tricks that made it go smoother please post them up.

Keep us updated.

If your sticking with the maf and that little valley filter your going to have un-metered air entering your engine. Not sure on how much but it will be there fwiw..
and what heads are you using?

Good write-up, I've got a lot of questions now lol.

Are the heads milled at all?
What pre-load did you record with the 7.4 PRs?
Why the LS7 MAF and front cover?

I am using 799 ported and polished heads milled .030. Ferrea 6000 series valve with a 5 angle cut. Finishing up the assembly today. Will measure preload. The LS7 MAF is the new style GM uses. The old one piece has the large bar across the inside. Not sure of any real benefit, but I will take free stuff all day long!

With Cam and Head Milling:
Static Compression Ratio: 10.68:1
Dynamic Compression: 8.52:1

Interesting, can you grab the PN for it? I'd like to check that out.
