Default My Impressions on Vig 2800

This thing is simply awesome. However, I am a little dissapointed because I should have gone with the Vig 3200. You guys should have talked me into it. The 2800 is not all that agressive at all. I brake stall to about 2500 rpm before the wheels start spinning on the streets. Is this normal for this stall? I was hoping it was a little closer to 2800. Fortunately, I have a free restall and will be sending it back in a few months.

I've had a Vigilante 2400 for a few weeks and about 4000 miles. I went with the 2400 since I tow semi regularly. Big improvement off the line compared to stock. I also really like the 3 plate lockup clutch. Feels almost like another gear compared to stock. Very happy so far. A bit pricy but it appears to be a high quality machined housing.

I have only tried foot brake stall and not to the flash stall. I have not really paid attn to that. What is normal average flash stall for this converter?

3100-3200 is the approximate flash. I find it a very aggressive converter for the street.

I see you went from Vig 2800 to TT300. What was your experience from this?

The Vig. was a great drag racing converter. It was small in diameter and flashed pretty hard. I didn't like the way it drove and often it would take forever to lock up. I also needed a little bit of towing capacity. As you know, I now have the TT3000 and had it turned up a bit after my tranny went. I rather the way this one drives on the street. It's still kind of loose, but has good lockup.

At the track: The Yank hasn't yet given me the 60's I used to have with the vig. That's the sacrifice. I haven't really had a chance to compare numbers, but I'd guess I lost .1-.2 in the 1/4. Not that bad. I think I can change that with a boosted 6.0.

i drove Tiburon's truck and dont find it aggresive at all, it feels very similar to my TCI, expect lockup is more solid on the Vig,

i think a VIG/TCI 3200 would be something i would want..
