Yah im not sold on any cam yet, thats why I like the opions. Whats everyone think will be a good setup? Im probably gonna buy it all through TSP so it will be a big order and work together fine.

224R Cam
- The Texas Speed 224/224 .581/.581 Camshaft With Your Choice of Lobe Seperation. Id be 112LSA

228R Cam
- The Texas Speed 228/228 .588/.588 Camshaft With Your Choice of Lobe Seperation. Again 112lsa

233-239 Cam
- TSP XS Series Camshaft:
233/239, .595"/.603" Camshaft With Your Choice of Lobe Seperation.

whats everyone think? I havent bought the new stall yet, So i cna match it to the stall.

I want a aggresive cam, but nothing to crazy

Get Patrick G to spec you a cam and talk to Chris at Cirlce D about a converter. Both guys know whats up and will point you in the right direction.

If it was me and knowing you dont DD, you want a badass idle and some great NA power, Id go with a low 230s duration cam and a 4000 converter. Would make for a mean *** setup but you willl need to get some drag radials to make it even think about hooking. That will net you a nice meaty idle and some great top end pull. With a 2wd 6.0 Id want more top end power as there is no way youre going to put that power to the ground on the street regardless of suspension setup unless you go to a real 4link or get deep into springs and shocks.

Its all going to hinge on how good your tuner is as to how the truck will run. THere are plenty of big cam trucks running around here that drive just fine but luckily for us Texans we've got some of the best tuners in the nation down here with the exception of Quik.

1 slow01z71 I hear you on the Pat G, I know many people are happy with his Work. However, I was hoping to get it all from Texas Speed for the soul reason that they can spec an entire package, for the entire motor build Im doing. Keeps it all in house. Im not looking to Break Ground with a crazy cam setup, just sue something that is large and proven.

Id like to keep my stall no higher then 3600 for driveability sake.

IMO, if you want to run stock heads, get an off-the-shelf cam. If you upgrade the heads, get a custom spec'd cam to take advantage of them. I will be contacting Pat G sometime in the future for a better cam for my truck.

the only reason i suggested the 228r is because i have a tr224 in mine and it could use alittle more boogedy stick even with my 3400ish converter... i believe wheatly is running the 228r and makin good power

Well i am getting the prc stage 2.5 ls6 heads, so I might as well see what Pat G says, I sent my form in not 2 minutes ago to see what they say. Should be interesting to see the results.

Anyone think Im gonna need bigger injecters then my current 8.1L one, upgrade to 8.1L marines?

I am doin a very similar build, I was thinking about the torquer V2 and the 233/239 tsp cam. But I am having one spec'd now and then I will decide.
