I picked up a lot with the LS1 fans in my rcsb Z-71. I just about crapped my self when I got 17 on the highway. But I drive fast, I've heard they really burn a lot more gas over 70 mph. So I guess.....S-L-O-W D-O-W-N.

Well I'll but in with my LQ9 6.0 H.O, VHO edition Silverado.
When I drive my truck easy (keeping rpm's below 2,000 & drive at 65 mph) I'll average 16-18 city and 19-21 hwy. I even once seen 23.5 mpg by setting cruise at 65 with A/C off.
It all depends on your driving habbits. I can get as worse as 9-11 averages by running the sh*t out of it. But with the price of my 93 oct Shell fuel I run every day, I don't do that very much.
So I know if my 6.0 can get great fuel economy, then the 4.8 & 5.3L can too.
Save the gas consumption for the track!
Hey-->chevymec<--? What kind of mods does your Z28 have to be running 12.5's @ over 110mph in the 1/4 mi?

The first quarter tank I can get like 135-140 then the last quarter Im lucky to get 85. I get around 14.5 with mixed driving. Just city I get 11.5 cause of my foot and stall. I get 16 on the highway runnin 80. If I spray a bottle of nitrous then I get about 11 with mixed driving a run from 0-120 with the nitrous will drop the gas gauge a white mark(I guess its a 1/16th of a tank ) Oh well.

I drive my rclb 5.3 from massachusets to virginia 700 miles every week and I can make it all the way on one tank.
I notice alot of you guys can fill up with 25 gallons but how come my truck takes 35 gallons? The best I have got so far is 21.2.
I hope that a tune, cai, fans and a cat back will get me 24 to 25.

Your truck is a long bed which has a bigger tank. Short bed = 26 gallon tank.
I average 14.5 around the city, which is full throttle - full brake type driving. On the high way last trip I got 19.6 with the A/C on.
