My new Avalanche! 5.3 LS1

Re: My new Avalanche! 5.3 LS1
Awesome deal man... I just browsed the pics on the website, not paying much attention, but how loaded is the truck? My cousin recently bought one in august, and its great, he got the z66 with all options. I like the Bowties that are sewn into the headrest!...now if they could elimintate the plasticy look of the exterior. One feature I like the most about the new trucks is the governor... in the 2000 sierra when you hit 99 the engine was killed and it came back on at 94 or so... resulting in jerky motions. On the new trucks however I think are fly by wire throttle(?), or maybe the computer dials back the timing or kills an injector or two or something, but either way its alot better than what they had in 2000! Im sure you'll know what im talking about soon enough
Congrats and enjoy!

HA!, I TRIED to get a dark red or Sunset Orange Avalanche. But... for the killer deal I got. ($5000 off MSRP and 0% financing) I had to take the only Z66 with the options I wanted.
I'm VERY happy with the truck so far. I am STILL working this dang "turn-around" at work. but once I'm off i ill start looking at "free" ways to speed up the truck. I need to look at the intake, exhaust...etc. It will happen with time. But this truck is more a way for me to get all jiggy with the Pepper than anything else.
Man I just love how everything was so thought out in the truck. Someone mentioned "plastic interior". Not mine. I really have no issues with that one. It is not nearly as "plasticly" (LOL, is that a word?) as the Camaros.
Unbleiveable smooth ride (Z66 package)
Great power (5.3 liter LS1 and 3.73 gears)
Great ground clearance.
Good gas milage.
Effecient, errily quite cabin, it's well thought out, beatiful and has LOTS of room. A killer deal on the purchase...yea, I'm happy.
I cant wait to go camping in this truck... a tent in the bed? oh hell yea!

Yea, I don't have a problem with the plasticy interior either. People seem to expect Lexus or Mercedes like quality of materials. Geez, it's a friggin truck!!!

Congrats on the purchase John! I made my way into a GMC ext. cab w/ the special financing. I agree that the 5.3L and 3.73's definitely make it fun!

Man, the Zero percent financing is THE way to go.
What I cant get over is how smooth this truck rides. The HUGE 265/70/17's ride like glass. The stock tires are 31.6" tall.... man, that is so freaking cool. If you guys have not ridden in a new Avalanche yet... you dont know what your missing. Smmooooooth.
BTW, in 90% city driving and racing anything that would pull up to me at a stop light, I averaged 13 mpg on my first tank of gas. More than acceptable for my "style" of driving.
