HAHA, It's seems to go like that. I've been wanting to do this for a while, this just gave me a reason

You have made a couple of good choices. The cam with the most torque would be:
The VHP 080. It has a rather smooth idle, but great fuel economy.
The VHP 112. Has more power in the mid range and top end but is softer on the bottom end and a nice "drive in" idle, also.
The VHP 062 is not recommended for automatics or heavier vehicles. It has a very rough idle.
All of the cams will work with the stock LS6 springs if they have very low mileage. We have a great replacement beehive spring that will work with stock seals, seats, locks, and retainers. It is much stronger than the LS6 spring and will take over .600 lift.
In summary, if you can stand a little less torque at the bottom and are looking for a "ruppity rupp" idle, the 112 is the cam for you. If you are looking for high bottom end torque gains and a pretty smooth idle the .080 is the one for you.
Let me know which way to go.
Roger

I just don't know if the 080 cam is going to be a significant gain over stock up top.

Also, mind telling me a little more about your turbo kit. What else would I need to complete it. What's my end cost I'm looking at?
That is some interesting info. As far as my kit, i sell the basic hot parts (crossover, manifold, and down pipe) I can add a waste gate, but you will still need a turbo, oil system and all the cold side. And some fuel mods and tuning. End cost can vary greatly

Very nice build, glad you're enjoying it.

FWIW, tdrumm has the Vinci 062 in his 5.3 RCSB, and I don't think that it idles rough at all...you know that there's a cam in there but I wouldn't call it "rough".

Sounds good, you have a clean setup. I hope this altitude doesn't rob you of your new found power.

Ya, I thinking about 12-15lbs max. I don't plan on spinning it to high, shifting around 5800 or so. We'll see how it does, If it wants to float, I will upgrade the springs.

Got home last night (moved from AZ back to WY) and emptied out the truck today, took if for a little drive today and feels pretty good up here too.

Get busy!! . This is a motor I've been wanting to build for a while and lifting the head a little was the final push I needed to make myself do it.
