My official GM 2005 E Fan post(large pics)
Here it is;
Some After market Cold Air Kit boxes may not Clear the Fan shroud, I only can verify the new style Volant and UPD will clear.
Just some info and part #'s for you guys. Perform at your own risk.
2003 SIERRA ELECTRIC FAN UPGRADE
145 AMP ALT P#10464476- Off A 2003 Sierra Denali (**Reman- Delco**)
LONGER BELT P#12576451 for use w/stock pulleys
If using ASP CRANK PULLEY-gates K060900
6.0L RADIATOR P#DRRA20060 from the barn
If you order from the barn No Ac means no engine oil cooler(driver side)
A/C means you get the oil cooler.
Also it didn't come with a peacock drain. No biggie.
Don't forget to trim the Rubber flaps on either side of the radiator.
2005 FANS
2-CONNECTORS P#88987983(might get them cheaper somewhere else)
Allen Is now offering them with his harness!!! Awesome.
1-SHROUD P#89023365
***includes rubber bushings and warning label and motor clips***
1-BLADE KIT P#89023366
1-BLADE KIT P#89023367
2-MOTOR KIT P#89023368 includes two more clips,
***doesn't come with screws to attach to shroud***
6-SCREWS FOR MOTORS(14 TAP X 1”L) gm screws are hard to get
(The part # for the GM screws are
M6.3 X 1.69 X 25MM(L) P#89024887 )
The (#14) screws worked fine and dug into the plastic nice and tight.
2-RAD HOSE CLIPS P#15159494 might already have from stock shroud
2-BOLTS W/WASHERS(8x1.25 x 45mmL)FOR SECURING FAN TO RADIATOR SUPPORT
NELSON FAN HARNESS- very nice worry free item.
www.nelsonperformance.com
pcm trigger= both fans low
a/c trigger= one fan on high.
pcm trigger with a/c= both high
ROCKER SWICTH, (optional) I have it hooked into the pcm lead to manually activate as well.
More pics on my cardomain.
Total cost almost $820 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Holy Chit
Thats a nice cam/springs and retainers with gaskets.
It all came out nice though and there's more benifits I think with upgrading to the bigger radiator and alternator. I don't regret it.
Just my .2

a/c trigger both fans high?. Mine triggers one fan high, which drives me nuts by the way. The A/C cycles a lot! Thinking of tying a thermostat to the AC coil somehow so that it only comes on when coil is hot.
Nice shot of the manual switch, I was gonna put it in the same place.
Do you see a voltage drop when the fans come on high with the big alternator?
Why a larger belt?
