Isn't psi of boost a measurement of restriction? Like if you put a supercharger on an all stock truck and set it for 9 psi, then add a set of headers and full exhaust you would drop boost Right? So if the stock truck intake runs out of steam at 6200 (which I think is correct) and the rest of the valvetrain can handle to be revved high the intake would be the restriction. Put the better intake, a cam matched for the setup, get some dyno time and tuning handled, and see where you stand. I agree I would work the bugs out of what you have now, but if you have plans of changing I wouldn't spend too much energy until you have the setup the way you want it. To me I wouldn't spend a bunch of time fine tuning what you have if you have plans of changing anything on the motor as it would change the state of the tune and more tuning and time spent tuning would be needed. The suspension and tranny I would build that and have it set up now before you added a bunch more power. Because if you can't hook it now or control it now you won't be able to control it anymore with more power.

back to the op's question, I would go fast, or tbss before vic. I have read about lots of low end torque drops with those. they look pretty, but i think there are better options. what about the street warrior intake they came up with. I think it flows good on low end? I agree with working on that setup though, get her hooked and go from there.

pounds per square inch is a measurement of compression(psi=force/area). compression is forcing a certain volume into a smaller volume thus moving the molecules closer to each other which allows for a more dense chemical into a smaller area. So if he is already moving enough air into the engine to start to compressing it to 9psi than him buying an intake only and staying with the same amount of air into the engine without changing the amount of air being able to escape is not really going to help him. Stochiometric is correct, a cam and a free-er flowing exhuast will do the trick. On a forced induction application you should always free up the exhuast as much as possible before going to a slightly larger intake.

Im spinning to about 6000rpm cause my s-trim with the 3.1 pulley is maxing out at 50,000 rpms with no more benefit of higher rpm. One thing I like about the Vic jr, as compared to the ls1/ls6 style intakes, is the even distribution of airflow to all the cylinders. With the ls1/ls6 style intakes, it seems like the rear 2 cylinders run leaner than the rest of the cylinders on force induction apps.
