if you replace your motor you might as well get an LS1 or a 6.0l. one of my favorite sayings is if it breaks, dont replace, upgrade

I have a couple coils for cheap if that is your problem.

it's been taken into consideration. finding one in my price range is the problem. the cheapest one i've found from a yard has 13K on it and they want 2G's for it. i'm thinkin about checkin ebay.

That's cheap! I would jump on that! Low miles. Is it a LQ9 6.0L or a regular LQ4 6.0L? They can be haggled down too!

YOU NEED A NEW FUEL PUMP.....same happened with my dads 01 Ext cab chevy 5.3 took bed off changed fuel pump put bed back on ran like new.......took all of 45 min by myself. (Had a tractor with front end loader to lift bed off) I think the pump cost $250 at a local parts store.

I doubt it. If you recall the original post of this thread, he stated the check engine light would come one when it was running bad, then it would go off when it ran good. A failed or failing fuel pump will not trigger the check engine light. You also should be able to hear the fuel pump running. If the sound fluctuates a lot, then it probably is the fuel pump. I'm leaning more on a failing coil or sensor.

put one in last year when i bought it. its only been in there for maybe 10 months.
