Re: My truck must just suck!
The 3000 drives pretty much like a stocker until you accelarate hard,a 3200 is a lot looser.I run the 3000 because my Tahoe is heavy,in a lighter truck the 3200 would be fine as long as you don't tow a lot.I originally ordered a 3200 for my Tahoe, but after I talked to the guys at Yank I changed my mind.I've been pleased with the Yank, which is more than I can for converters I've bought in the past from other manufacturers. You do get what you pay for, don't buy a cheap converter.

The stock converter, good ol generals 236/75-16 and the g80 gave me 2.1 and 2.2 before I had the 20's. I was launching from idle though. I have tried not going through the water pit and I have heated them up a little.
I can leave on the 3rd yellow and still only manage 600 r/t.
These trucks have the slight hesitation.
Truck with stock set up- 2.1-2.2
Truck with 20'2-2.2-2.3
Truck with et drags- 2.1-2.2
Truck with et drags and stall- 1.9-2.0( never an 1.8)
With the stock drivetrain the generals performed as well as the et drags, but with the stall and new tranny The generals stay lit till 330 ft.

Re: My truck must just suck!
Well, thanks for the encouraging words. I was thinking that it would suck to spend another $8000 on the motor, tranny, and rear diff, and get crappy times. I was thinking if it would be better to just get rid of it, and get a camaro or something, but I like having a large truck!
My runs are right off of the street, at 1960ft elevation, at Las Vegas Speedway. I have probably done about 50 runs on the 1/4mile, and have played with shift points, and what not. My best run is a 15.677, with a 2.43 60ft, and my averages are about .1 seconds apart, real consistant between runs. I like to run it straight off the street with full weight, to get real world performance numbers. My tires hardly spin at the track. I found launching the best by, at a medium speed to just push the peddle to the floor. When stomping it, or power braking, I get about .2 seconds slower either way. I shift at 5800 to 2nd, then 5700 to third. This has given me my best numbers.
If you calculate it to sea level, it comes out to a 15.3 1/4 mile time. I was hoping to be high 14's, so that I knew I could get low 13's with the Radix. That was my goal. I just want to be able to run stock corvette times, then I would be extremely happy. I am going this Friday with a friend and his 1 year old stock corvette. This way I can see exactly what they run out here. I have seen other corvettes run about 13.7 second average runs out here, but don't know if they are modified or whatnot.
I need to run when it is mid 70's to get some real numbers, and I was thinking of going to Cali to run it somewhere to get some sea level runs.

Re: My truck must just suck!
It's really hard to compare against some of the other peoples times since the DA can effects ET's so much.
Now I can feel a nice gain with the ASP pulley on and dynoed 12rwhp more but now the DA is 3000 and I took it back to the track and ran 14.95 at 90.7mph. Corrected , my best ET ever went from 14.8 @ 92.56 at 1300ft to 14.59 at 93.88 and my last run after the mods was 14.95 @ 90.7 went to 14.47 @ 93.77 corrected.
Try correcting your times and see what you come up with.

Re: My truck must just suck!
in my opinion you went the best on apperance items, suspension, but you kinda went south on the performance mods.
volant= no gains on my side, track tested by me, most people like k&n intake and upd, try it out.
gms= most people say it does nothing.
predator- both ways, i've read good reports, yet seems like there are problems arising with them now. try a hpp if you could borrow one from a friend..
shorties/flows - well, lets say you could have gone with long tubes and stock exhaust and probably gained more. i love my hamms with stock exhaust,
have you ever ataped your truck to see how its running, to lean/rich?
next mod, try a crank pulley.
and yea, dont even both to running it during the summer dog days, i wish i never did, my time was embarasing compared to my runs made in december.
