Strange, I have never had that happen to me once in Ft. Worth.

Mufflers brah, mufflers. Your exhaust only sounds obnoxious if you don't put in the effort to make it sound good. IMO

Does that apply to fartcans too? Fart cannons? Is it fart cans, because it sounds like farting in a can, or fart cannon, because they sound like a cannon shooting shitty sounding hot air? That was inappropriate. It deserves it's own thread,

Another Richard Holdener video. A new video from 2 weeks ago:
In short, the cam retaining plate is being held in by one bolt on this engine in this test, and leaking. There is a 20psi difference, and he is going to redo this test. - Hopefully soon. I'd like to know if that oil pressure makes a difference. This shows the Texas speed cam made more torque at mid, but it's minimal (to me).

Summit CAM -------------------- 600/585 212/218 dur 110 LSA +3 (440hp and 423lb ft)
Cam Motion 03-01-0187 ------- 553/553 216/224 dur 108 LSA +3 (440hp and 423lb ft)
Brian Tooley Truck Norris cam - 553/553 212/22X dur 107.5 LSA (443hp and 421lb ft)
Texas speed Chopacabra --------550/550 214/222 dur 108 LSA (442hp and 424lb ft)

Don’t see how oil pressure would make a difference in such a test. Someone may enlightenment me though

Anyway, my vote is save money and supercharge or turbo to be more efficient

I have a 6.0 engine sitting in the garage. I pulled it out with 178K. I didn't get it running, but it did crank and get 60psi of oil pressure. The cylinder walls still have the crosshatching, but it's out of a 2000, so it's got that early crankshaft with the funky length. I have been thinking for a while, I just wanted something with about 500rwhp for a daily with the nv4500, but not sure. I've also got an aluminum 5.3 bored .020 over that should be ready to be built, but I don't even know if it's already too much. I've got a lot to learn to figure this out, and for what I want, it might be better to just buy a LS3 in a few years. I have a problem with buying 3/4 of the parts needed for something, then sitting on em for years.

If you have a 6.0 then just do that swap. I wouldn’t even think about camming the 4.8

I never had it running, and the backstory on the truck it came out of was highly questionable. I got it pretty cheap, and never planned on running it as is. I wanted to rebuild it, and hope to get 10-20 years out of it. I'm not going to install a questionable engine and just baby it or hope. They make swapping an engine look pretty easy on roadkill, but I promise you that will take me weeks if not months to get it in, and that's staying home and putting all my energy into it.

You’re keeping me awake with this tom foolery! I’ll come down there and do it myself.
