Default N2O

Really want N2o, need some info.

1. Is there a kit for our trucks or will I have to piece it together? Cost if known.

2. What is a safe shot of N2o for my Mods?

3. What is safer, to manually trigger or WOT trigger, dry or wet?

4. Will I have to do anything to the computer?

i like the nx kit 50-150hp, it is an adjustable wet system, it cost around $500 for the basic kit and $800 if you want all the goodies(heater, gauge, vent tube, filter), i think a purge kit is a waste of money but you can get that for another $75 or so. i am prety sure this kit will bolt right up to our trucks, you may have to figure out a way to mount the nozzle but i bet it isn't tricky.

i would also go with a window switch, this keeps you from spraying right out of the hole, or from blowing your engine if your tranny lets go(and it may)

no computer mods, 100-125 seems to be the consensus for a safe shot, if you want to go higher yuu will want to watch your fuel presure and log some stuff with atap. this is all info i got from ls1tech posts, i haven't ran any N2O on my truck yet

you will be able to put a system together for about 350-400... A dry kit spraying in your air filter will do everything you want and you will be able to spray up to around 125RWHP. This is the system that I use and others are using with no troubles. Its not the best but it is alot better then paying almost 1000 for a nitrous kit...

what i like about the wet system is that it doesn't max out your injectors or maf, if you will be doing just the nitrous set up with a bunch of bolt on's then the dry probably would be better, if you ever step up to a heads and cam setup or a blower set up then you would want the wet. or if you plan on going with a big shot some day then a wet would be better.

if you think you will be happy with just the 125shot than yea go with the dry, one benifit of the dry is that bottle presure isn't critical, if the presure is down you may get a little less hp but you wont be flooding it like the wet set up would.

I prefer the wet shot and really have found no better system than the TNT kit.. It has duel nozzels and seems to mix the shot a lot better than a single nozzle. I used the LS1 Camaro system and adapted it to fit on my UPD intake.. Works great forme....Dry is nice but I personally like to keep it 75 and under for extra safety..

A window switch and WOT switch is a must IMO.. Also need a bottle heater and safety shut off switch for that too..

I have blown several motors on Nitrous in the past and believe in all the saftey money can by,, is well worth it... The problem is that nitrous always makes us CRAZY and then comes KAAAAABOOOOOM!!!! hehe

hey 99redhawk, i see you want to go with a ls6 cam for your truck, i am certanly no expert or anything but i have read that this cam has a smaller base circle and the factory went with slightly longer valves to make up for it. you might want to check that out before you buy one, i just recently started looking at cams and have alot to learn so this may not be true.

i found this. http://ls1info.com/article.php?sid=148

great time for that beast by the way!!

I would definetly stay with a wet kit. I sprayed 125 on my truck and dropped 2 seconds, thats with street tires and not spraying till second gear. I would use a hand held activation switch bc you're gonna have to let off the kit so your truck will shift. Plus with the hand held button you can try to spray it as soon as you can get traction. I used a whole bottle on the street the first time i sprayed mine trying to learn how and when to get it to shift. By the way nitrous is addictive.

I sprayed up to 125 shot too and wouldn`t think of it on this motor with a dry shot..I also spray out of the whole and dropped over two seconds too.. I run in 4x4 mode and most of the ET cromesd from the low sixty foot times created from spraying out of the whole.. If you don`t spray down low,, you may only see a 1 second drop or so with a 100 shot.. 60 foot times are a terrible thing to waste..

Parish, My bad never updated my cam wishes..Been running a free crane cam I got for 6 months now.. .210 int. .216 exh .230int lift and .250 exhaust on a 113 LSA.. Don`t really like it for my 6000 lb truck but I need to spray it first and really test it.. I think I will try a 150 shot next..

Spraying out of the hole will kill your engine really fast! I use the NX wet kit installation is a breeze basically you just mount the nozzle in the intake. I run a 150 shot kicking in at about 3 g's on the tach. In my opinion dont do a dry system i think it is much better to have control of both the N2o and fuel jetting at the nozzle than to run a sort of compensating system!
