NA 5.3 suggestions

As for a set of heads for a 5.3 truck.. dont get a set of heads that are 'hogged out' unless you get a big cam that warrants it. You want to keep port velocity up which in turn gives you a more usable torque curve.
This is an everyday so I want drivability. how much of a cam could I go with. It seems that I should get the cam custom ground to fit the heads. I wonder if anyone sells a package allready together?
My mechanic can do the port and polish job himself, I trust him he's very kowledgable. I wonder if I should let him do it by hand or get someone to CnC them.
