NA vs. FI (400whp)
I am wondering what bolt on mods could be done to gain around 400hp. And a rough cost including labour. Is it cheaper and more reliable to go Naturally Aspirated (sp) or Forced Induction?

It's doable with the 5.3L but will take $$$ and some good parts. Being that you are a
2WD helps but these trucks absorb quite alot of drivetrain parasitic loss compared to GM cars like the Fbody's C5-6, etc.... I made 420rwhp easy in my LS1 with a small cam and relatively cheap heads.
With the 5.3 you will need a very good set of heads, AFR 205s, TFS 215's, etc, 11.0-1+ SCR, cam in the 230+ duration range. This along with LTs, ASP pulley, ported TB, intake and exhaust with tuning would put you damn near 400rwhp.
Or spend the money on a blower for an easy 400rwhp.
