I have a 2003 rcsb with the stock, non electric fan and huge shroud. I just installed the NNBS intake/tb. The design of this intake angles the throttle body upward, which changes the angle of the intake tubing. Since I still run the stock tubing, it has the large sound baffling attached to it, and the new angle is forcing it into the fan shroud. It also makes the intake tube sit higher, almost hitting the hood when it closes.

I'm guessing just about any aftermarket air intake will come with silicon couplers and two hose clamps to attach to the throttle body, which will give me enough wiggle room to offset the angle. I was planning on getting some type of aftermarket air intake tube/filter anyway, but will any aftermarket intake fit this NNBS intake and also clear the upper fan shroud?

If you have an NBS truck, stock fan, and NNBS intake, which tubing do you run?

 

No one has a NBS truck with NNBS intake and a stock fan? Looking for air intake options that are known to fit...

 

I'd swap in electric fans if I were you, but Airraid MIT tube 200-912 should work for your application. The fan shroud doesn't give it a lot of clearance so part of the tube bottenecks down to 2" or so.

 

Damn, that sounds worse than the stock tube. Do you know which efans are compatible with an 03?

I used LS1 camaro fans because of my 28" radiator. They were about $100. Another $100 for the harness. And then you just need to get them turned on in the tune.

 

This. I got a free set of F-body fans, bought the PCM of NC harness kit. And used an Airraid intake tube for a 2005-2007 truck. (It's larger than the 99'-04' version)

 

I have a k&n on my 99 think the kit was actually for an 04 with 34" radiator and e fans, the tube is actually bigger diameter than the mit i have on my 08 yukon

 

That looks like a nice tube. Can you elaborate on the harness description? What is PCM of NC? Got a link to the harness I would need. Rockauto sells the GM truck E fans for $150. I like to buy new stuff, probably do that.

Is that K&N an open element filter? Is the tube metal? I like the idea of keeping the stock box, or aftermarket if its enclosed, and I want to stay with a plastic tube.
