backburnered for now
still collecting parts, automotive things move slow at my house in the spring, i have two baseball players one highschool and one little league, 7 games a week.
I bought some LS6 springs with the blue paint stripe on them. I read later I want the yellow springs for a comp low lift. They are new take offs, it would be cool if i could use them. I will have to check the pressures.

Do you want power under 3000rmp or over?
The transmissions on these trucks starts to go out between 100,000-200,000 miles depending on the driver. Some transmissions make it over 300,000. My point is a new cam and performance parts will put more strain/wear and tare on your factory transmission.
First I would get long tubes, exhaust,x pipe, dyno tune.
See how you like that and if you decided you want more like all of us!!!
Comp 206/212 on a 12 lobe is the smallest I would go for the job/effort, It would be the best for fuel mileage and low end tq with a stock stall speed. The comp 216/220 on 114 lobe is the largest route I would personally go with a daily driver application. It has bad *** top end performance while keeping low end tq. The comp 212/218 on 114 lobe is popular choice as well

you know this thread is from like 9 months ago right? he probably already decided on a cam. are you saying you wouldnt dd a cam with 220 intake duration? tr 220? also there is much more to consider such as ramp rates, lift, lsa, lobe design, advance etc

No I did not realize lol Ill check the dates next time! I noticed you have a cam and stall. What cam size and stall speed did you go with? I just received new texas speed stage 2.5 heads and installing the new transmission over summer when the semester is over. What cam and stall would you recommend for the 5.3 over 220 duration? I like the 114 lobe not to choppy and I mainly want most my power below 3000 rmp, some top end would be nice for getting on the freeway.
Oh every external bolt on has been added to the truck as well. I'm also keeping the 3:42 rear end ratio for fuel mileage purposes

im running a 224/224 cam with a 3200 circle d tc and 4.10 gears. It does fine and still pulls halfway decent mpg's for a heavy *** track but it could use a lil more verter. When i get a built trans im thinking of installing a billet 3400
