Default Need a DD cam that's N2o friendly

Starting to get more and more addicted to this horsepower thing

I have an 04 z71 ECSB I'm adding a yank tt3000, building up the 60e, adding a tru trac (possibly gears), upgrading the DS, and plan on adding a cam along with some N2o. Problem is I'm a newb and know very little about cams.

This truck is my DD so I don't want to butcher the fuel mileage. I know I know beating a dead horse here, but it jus wouldn't be practical.

From researching the tr220 cam seems like a very good choice, I just don't know how DD friendly it will be.

I want something with a nice lope and some good power down low an throughout the RPM range.

212/218 is all Id run with those bigger tires and tight converter. Anything bigger and you will sacrifice down low power, Im only running a gt2-3 cam in my LQ4 and it has tq all over the place and runs pretty good even with a 2400ish converter.

Alright thanks. Will that cam be a noticeable gain?

I'd still do the TR22o with a 3000 converter, I had the 212/218 low lift in a 5.3 and wasn't that impressed.

You also have an rcsb 2wd on street tires, HUGE difference.

The 220 will net more gains but will lack in the lower rpm range when cruising down the highway.

Indeed. A split cam with a milder converter is better suited for what he is wanting to do with the truck.. More power down low, flatter tq curve..

That's what I thought, but I swear I seen a post or something about one cam being better for nitrous than another, or something.

that sounds about like what I want.

About how much difference will the gains be? Any difference between fuel efficiency?

some good advice there

i think the 212/218 would be more of a low end gain and the 220/220 would be more of a mid/high range, as for gains the nitrous will make up for it..
