I wound up putting the 02 tables on my 99 pcm. Runs really well with no kr.

We tried that, It didn't work, My truck is slighty cursed.

I'm also wondering what year to buy edit or tuners? Probably 02.
I can't see adding a wire from the alternator to pcm being that difficult.

My next weekend project.

The 99 PCM sucks ***. It will never go back into my truck either. It made my truck run like crap! KR all the dam time! I got sick of my battery light with the 02 PCM so I just unhooked the dam message senter for now.

Creeder, praise to you if you figure the flashing light thing out!!! Im interested in a fix too.

I think that the 98 F-bodies have a similar problem...is it PCM logic or a knock sensor issue? Are the knock sensors from the 99's and 02's the same? You would think that if it was in the PCM that using the 02 tables would fix it...or is it a resistor or hard part in the PCM that is causing the problem? If so, installing some resistors in series with the knock sensors might be an option. I would think that tuning with the dyno should be able to soften the knock signal...I hope.
Guess I'll find out Saturday...I'll be sure to post my results.

99's arn't the only ones. My 00 had the 8* of KR after the cam swap as well. I have since tunned around it but the drawback to that is I dont have any knock protection anymore. I have also tried the inline resistor trick and it eventually throws a code for knock sensor low voltage.
As far as the 'flashing battery light'... adding a wire to the pcm is pretty easy. Many of us have already done it for adding e-fans. Just be sure to have a fuse between the alt and pcm unless you plan to run it thru the fuse panel first.
btw.. my 00 only has a brown wire from the alt if it make any difference.
