Not the best picture, but you can see on the left the 60e converter and the slots on the round part going into the trans.

I forgot to mention, you can test it by pulling one of the trans cooler lines off and seeing how the fluid flows. It will prolly ooze out or not come out at all.
To see about it when you pull the pan, you would have to pull the pump out of the front, requiers a special tool, and seperate the pump, which requires another special tool to put it back together.

No kidding huh, call it what you want I know what they look like as I have been messing with them long before you have ans basic convert/pump desing (except for putting a clutch in the converter) has not changed in nearly 50 years now and chysler was the last one to lose the rear pump in their torque flite trannies that would allow you yo push start their cars at under 25 mph too (bet you did not know that either). BTW my GM shop manual spec the 89 700R4 out at 3.09 first, 1.60 second, 1.0 third and .70 4th and those ratios have not changed in the 4L60. Perhaps you should tell GM the printed there manuals incorrectly of count the teeth and be sure but being the difference you suggest is less than 1% you ar just try to be a hard case about it and nothing more.

snowman you have put a few post up telling people certain things and some have been different than what we have found to be true. fuel line for trannies--doh. the 60's are different than the old 700's. look at them. misinformation is a bad thing.

You are misinforming them and the internal designs of the 4L60 has changed little from a 700 R4 ( the TH350 > 700R4 >4L60 are all related as the 4L80 is basically a THM400 with a overdrive unit added and some electronic controls and you would know this if you were better informed) Also, reinforced high pressure fuel line hose works great for tranny coolers. Also the 200R4 is a transaxle and really unrealted to the others.

The 2004R is NOT a transaxle...it's a transmission. I know it was used in GN's and other REAR WHEEL DRIVE G-body's.

The was a THM 200 and a THM 275 too, In the 350 family there was a THM350 and a THM375 too (there may have been a lighter version too but I am not sure) , In the 400 familiy there was a 375B (a 400 with less clutches in packs) at THM400, a THM 425 and a THM 475 too. There were also a few other variations as well but these were problay well before your time. (there were also at least two different PowerGlides as well too in gear ratios not counting whether they were cast iron cased or aluminum) We used to use torque converters out od 4 cyl THM200 in THM350's for poor man high stall converters, they were good up to 300hp or so if you kept them cool.
