No. I mean the 2004R. It was definitely in the turbo Buicks, and my buddy's 305 Monte Carlo.

It would have been based on the THM200 (which was a piece of crap not worthy of hydromatic name) and shared its first three gear ratios. I vaguely recall it now but I have paid very little attention to any of the 200 series trannies because as a whole they were troublesome and based on a weak design.

First gear in the 4L60E is 3.06 . Why couldn't the GM manual be wrong?

It sure could be, (and it would not be the first either for sure) I just based my comments on what the manual I have said not what I thought.

Sounds like you need an up to date manual.

So it's 15 years old? I don't think that 4L60-E's were even around back then, were they?

No but the 4L60 is based on the 700R4 and uses its gear ratios completely. Be it 3.0625 or 3.09, the difference is less than 1% and certainly not worth all of this fuss over it.

True but, please don't tell people they are misinformed unless you know for an absolute fact because THAT is what causes alot of the fuss.

This thread needs to get back on topic.
