Will be watching this thread. I'm thinking a torque converter will go a long way in improving performance in my truck. I have been doing some research and reading. I have no personal experience with these converters. From your list about the only one I have not heard any negative feedback about is the the PI Vigilante. Don't believe they make a 3000 have to do 2800 or 3200. Not read anything on jet or jeg units. Lots are recommending the unit out of a TrailBlazer. Believe its just a 2300 stall.

I have a VIG 3000 and I will never buy any other converter. You also get a free restall. If I were you or had it to do over again I would go with a 3200 . Alot of people like Yanks, but I wouldnt put one in my truck if it was given to me. Check out the great customer service they gave Parish .

Sorry to jack your thread, but can someone tell me what a stall converter does? How does it get used while driving? The word "stall" throws me off, do you some how rev up the engine before you go?

Talking

it allows the engine to rev to higher rpms before it launches. when you are just cruising its not much above normal. trottle position has a lot to do with how much rpms it will flash to. if i stall to 1000 and then floor it mine would go to 2400 rpm's and then launch. it is usually good for one truck lenght.

So you have to rev it up to a certain rpm at launch, ie, 1000 rpm? Do you have to hold your brake and rev it up? Is it programmed to rev to a certain rpm, ie., 2400, 2600, 3200 stalls?

Does it stall everytime you go, or only at WOT?
