Is this a set of 3.905 pistion or 3.910 pistions? I had a 5.3 block bored to a 3.905.. These pistion seem very tight in the bore.

What you have here is a 3.905 with a .005 oversize, so.....3.910

 

Pistons are 3.905,the rings are 5 thousands overthe piston size so you can file fit them , are you doing that part yourself? when you had it honed did the machine shop have a piston to base off of, i only ask because different manafactures have different tolerances wondering if they based the hone off of your word of 3.905 or measured the piston . depending if your spraying it or fi or na is how should figure out your ring gap guidelines should have came with the rings

Well ... I order piston for a 3.905 bore. Can you bore a 5.3 block to a 3.910 bore safety???

The shop bored the 5.3 block with out the piston. I guess summitracing sent me the wrong pistons

 

Why didnt you bore to the stock LS1 3.898 bore?

Yes ,I filed the top rings .022 and sec .024
