Default Need a little help please

I'm looking to do a little work to my Yukon Denali it has the 6.0. I want to add a nice lopey cam that will generate plenty of low end to complement the future 4:88s. I do tow and will tow more in the future, What is a good cam suggestion and what will I need to install with it? I'm also adding electric fans and a tune. Truck description is in the signature also truck has 175k thank you.

Well lumpy, and low bottom end torque don't go closely with eachother. If your running 35's, and tow, I would usggest somethinglike a 212/218 with a 114lsa. This will give you great power overall, and is best suited for a big truck like that.

Suggest replacing valves springs and rods when installed. Lots of suppliers can offer a "cam install package" that will have mostly everything you need.

as far as how to, look on ls1tech. Thheres a great one for ls1 there, same thing

Yes, as mentioned above you are looking for two things that dont really go together. You could do a happy medium and kinda split the difference, a Mid 220's cam on like a 110lsa should talk to you at idle and still have decent low end. If you plan to do a blower at some point then your cam needs will be completely different, also do you plan to run a higher stall converter?

This goes against what I was told... Lsa makes chop low lsa moves the tq curve lower also I was told to never a higher stall converter with a lifted truck

lower lsa will move the powerband lower, torquier and make it chop more. blowers though require the use of high lsa cam for optimum performance. that is why we're telling you on here about going in opposite directions. youll need to decide on whether youll want a blower or not, then decide on cam and as for lope, there are some mufflers that can help with that sound you want. (example, i had a mild 6.0 with a tr224 cam. mild set up for daily driving. i had a spintech muffler that made it sound radical. i swapped to a big magnaflow and it sounded tame. nothing else changed.)

as for stall, a 3000 would be ideal.

with 35 tires, some 4.56s or 4.88s would help greatly.

The lower LSA will chop harder and it will make more peak torque and power, but it comes at the price of a narrower powerband. The wider the LSA, the lower the rpm the power curve will start and it will still be pulling farther past the peak, but with lower numbers. You have to kind of split the difference, I'd look into something around 212/218-218/225@.050 on probably a 112 LSA. It will still have a noticeable idle, but won't need a big stall. My 218/224@.050 on a 110LSA cam is kind of lazy till about 3500, then comes on like gangbusters till 6000 or so. I have a 3000 stall so it covers the loss of torque off idle pretty well.
