Default Need LQ9 advice

Need to know what cam I can use in a LQ9 that will allow me to reuse the rest of the stock valve-train, like rockers, springs etc. I want increased bottom end over the stock LQ9 cam, and I want it to be increased up top too, if thats possible. Now I have read about the 224/224 cam, but was not sure if that will fit my needs or beat it. Or whats the best route? The truck in question is a 2001 Tahoe. Its has 3.73 gears now in it with 265/70/16. That said I want to keep better performance than that stock combo.

Now I plan on going with a 17x9 with equivalent size tire on it, or maybe a tad wider like 285 on a 9inch wide rim. Gears I was going to switch to would be 4.30s with a tru trac. But I dont know how big of a tire a 285/65/17 or 285/70/17 tire is. If its a 33" I would love to do 4.56 gears. My oval goal is to shoot for a 32" tire with 4.30s.

Maybe Im wrong somewhere... This is my daily driver, Im what you would call a road warrior, sorta like the state patrol. Im always on the road, hwys, etc, city, I would say Im a agrressive driver. What cam, gears, stall do I need? And brief explanation will help. Thanks

Your going to find it difficult at best to find anyone that will recommend that you reuse the rest of your stock valve-train with a cam larger than stock. By all means you can re-use the rockers, however the springs will need to be replaced with something compatible with whatever cam you choose and while the stock pushrods may work if they end up being the correct length after swapping cams, you would still be well advised to obtain some stronger pieces.
