Need a quick response about my programmer
I have a Superchips max micro tuner that I'm trying to sell. The box says it is for a 99-00 Gm truck 4.8, 5.3, 6.0. I have a buddy with a 2002 Chevrolet Z71 that wants to buy it, so I was wondering if it would work on his truck. Were there any changes made to the computers in our trucks that would not allow it to work? I was thinking it would work, and the only reason it is listed for a 99-00 is because of when it was produced. I really want to get this thing sold, so I can get me a Nelson tune. Thanks for any input guys.

Don't know if this helps, but I was told by hypertech that a 2001 programmer wouldn't work for my 2002 truck.
I'd say deprogram your truck, and try it on his truck.

The programing in the different model years is different and that's why the programers only work for certian years. Even if you have the same model yr but you flash your PCM with a brand new file the programer might not work.
I think Hypertech chargers now if you are not the original owner.
