Default Need serious HPT help with stalling.(Flyer, 01Thunder)

I cant seem to figure out why if I'm moving less than 20mph and let off the gas to fast it dies. I have tried for about 6 months with no luck. Is there something i need to change with the tranny tuning, or is this an engine problem?

My idle is at 850rpms and 24-26*. At WOT its at 29.5*. I just dont get it, it runs really strong, and well. But under 20 it just doesnt like to stay running.

I guess the best way to describe it is when i let off under 20mph the rpms drop faster than it can level them off.

Thanks for any insight, I really need it.

Sounds like a cam tuning problem to me.

I'm not sure what you've already done, so I'll just post up all the steps I took to solve stalling issues.

IAC Park Position: raise 40*C & up to 21

Idle Air in Gear: raise 68*C & up to 9.20

P/N Airflow Decay Table: 0-6 mph to 15, 8-14 mph to 10

P/N Delay: double the value

Air Flow Decay in Gear: first gear, 0-14 mph raise up to 15

Base spark in park and in gear : 26* for smaller cam, 28* for larger

High & low Octane tables: boost the part throttle advance to help with the drivability

VE Table: multiply 400, 800, & 1200 rpm columns by 70, 80, & 90%.

If the cam is in the 214 to 218 duration range with a 114 LSA I shoot for 650
If the cam is 218 to 222 I go for 700
If the cam is 224 to 226 I go for 750
For 228 and up I will typically go for 800 to 850 depending on the LSA. The smaller the LSA the higher the idle.

You may also play around with the stall saver feature as a temporary fix, but it didn't always work for me.

Have you messed at all with the Base Running Airflow. I know that when I put my cam in it would die out on me when I would be decelerating. What I did is I went under Idle Airflow. And opened the Idle Air Flow vs. ECT settings and raised the values up a little, I think about 10%. It really helped it out a lot and I got rid of the truck dying on me. I know that some softwares come with a decelerating table that helps the motor keep on running under drastic throttle position changes for example WOT to 0%. But I dont think our computers use anything like that. I was looking at the Power enrichment settings under fuel control but do not see anything like that. But I really dont know I have never messed with deceleration or power enrichment modes vs RPM.

Thanks for the insight. I'll give it a try in the morning.

I just noticed a typo!

Base spark in gear and in park, 26* from 400-1000rpm and up to .32g/sec for a smaller cam, adn 28* in the same range for a larger
