Default need some 6.0 info

ok i must admit i dont know much of anything about the 6.0 motors. i have this hairbrain idea to drop a 6.0 motor into my second gen TA though. i need some info on the motor. im wondering if the ac compressor is on the bottom like the ls1 is. what about the oil pan is it anything exotic like a vette or is it normal like an old school pan. what about motor mounts, are they old school style or what? im just doing some thinking and tossing around some ideas. if anyone has any info to add that they think might be helpful then speak up please. thanks

The motors are from the same casting....so externally they look the same. If you were to install it in your F-Body, you would need to transfer the accessory package over from the 5.7 that is currently in your car now.

but why would you? just bore or resleeve your 5.7 alum. block. instead of a 6.0 cast iron. Unless you going max power and building insane turbo or nitrous setup.

my .02 cents

its going in a second gen TA not a fourth gen. so i cant transferre anything over. i was just thinking it would be cool to have a 6.0 in there when its supposed to be a 6.6 liter from the factory. what about the truck accessory brakets? is the ac on the bottom like with the cars?

Well then puch out the 6.0 block to 6.6, or wild and weird put in a 6.6 duramax that been triple stacked and druged to 1600 ftbls of torque!!! think of the frame twist man!!!

May have to go to aftermarket setup for this, also will need to go with different motor mounts. Might want to pick a subsrciption from, Super chevy, Chevy high performance. While back seen a acrticle about put ls6 into first gen.

The A/C is on the bottom pass side, Yes. Other than that the acc packages are different.

The truck accessories also stick out further than the cars and the truck water pump outlet comes out the top. Just some other things to consider.

Throw a 4" stroke crank and the appropriate pistons/rods into that stock bore 6.0L and you have a 6.6L.

see thats kinda what i ws thinking about is having a modern 6.6. how cool would that be? id have the shaker mounted to the engine still too. it would be mounted on a bracket or something, but still there and shaking. ive seen the write ups on the third gen. and its pretty indepth i think. knotching the k memer for the ac is not something i call staright forward like hotrod does.

ill be sure to try and find the write up on putting them in first gens. im sure by the time i get to it someone will have already done it and i can just follow their lead. thanks for the info guys.
