Default Need some help

Well guys i have a question on the reluctor ring on the crank and how it works? See im helping a friend on a motor and some how his timing jumped and the truck wouldnt start. He has a 6.0L motor and it did have a pro charger with a boost cam and tsp low compression motor and some how the timing chain jumped a tooth on the cam sprocket. Will the sensor for the reluctor ring make the engine malfunction? But we tore the motor apart and everything looks good and hes going another route with the motor by removing the boost cam but i just want to find out what was the problem?

The sensor is a magnet and it picks up a signal from the metal teeth on the ring, if the sensor was bad it would cause the truck to run poorly or not at all. Why are you concerned with the crank sensor if you know that the problem is from the timing chain jumping a tooth?
