Need some info on the TCI 4L60E Super Street Fighter Torque Converter
I'm trying to weigh my options on converters. I'm looking at the TCI Super Street Fighter Torque Converter. Anyone have this converter or have experience with it? I do know that yanks are more expensive, but for the price, I thought it was a pretty good deal. I don't have alot of performance mods, so I figured with the money I saved buying this one, I could also get the shift kit and servos installed too. Just give me alittle insight on the TCI.

I had two of them, the first one a SSF3500 stalled about 5000rpm and was totally unstreetable.I complained and they replaced it with one that destroyed the pump on my freshly built transmission within 30 minutes. Then they offered me merchandise credit instead of a refund.Buy a Yank TT3000 or TT3200 you'll pay more, but you won't have trouble with it.You might have better luck than I did,but mine was a very expensive experience and I live within driving distance of TCI.They were hard to deal with when I had a problem and I'll never deal with them again.

It does seem the way to go is yank. After my post, I did a search and only saw good things about the yank. I just figured the tci would be alright for my truck since I have so little performance mods. It looks to me like the old saying of you get what you pay for comes into play here.

i havent had any problems with my tci. i personally know a few people that have tci converters and havent had any problems with them. i cant say anthing bad about them, they stall at the right rating, hit hard, and hold up to alot of abuse. if i ever buy another converter, i will buy tci.

I think I'm gonna try the tci. I just don't think the price can be beat. With the extra money I will save, I think I will go ahead and get a shift kit, servo, and tranny cooler. Thanks for the input.
