Default Need some opnions

I bought some comp rockers, valve springs and rods to put in my radix powered truck, took it to my machanic that installed my radix and he said the book calls for 12 hours labor, WOW!!! @ 75.00 dollars an hour I was thinking 4 to 5 hours, Is 12 hours correct? Doing it myself is not an option, I wouldn't know where to begin and I have to much money into this truck for me to try this job as my first do it yourself mod, I know nothing about engines. I the labor quote close or am I getting
Thanks
Mark

I bet he quoted book time which includes pulling the heads which you do not need to do.I am sure someone here that lives some what close to you will jump on here willing to help.

This is so common with "fix everything" mechanics...ESPECIALLY with doing a cam swap. You have to physically show them the tool for holding the lifters from falling before they believe you. Not sure about the springs and rods...12 hours? does he plan on pulling the radix back off or something? wow is right.

I did my heads/cam, and spring swap in less than 10hrs. 12 sounds like a bit much. I cant see springs rockers and pushrods taking more than 4 at the most. And if you have the neat little tool for doing teh springs I would say closter to 2-2.5 hrs.
