Default needing suggestions on what to do next

I have an 03 GMC Sierra Z71 5.3 only mods to truck right now is Valont cold air intake, 4:56 gears with true track. 1/4 mile time is 16.40. Trying to decide which route to go either super charged or turbo to get the truck in the 12's and still be a good dependable daily driver with what mods I already have. Suggestions please.

What all do you use the truck for? Plan for transmission mods also.

I use the truck to travel back and forth to work and wanting to build a weekend racer out of it. It has 110,000 miles on it. Transmission has been serviced ever 15,000 since new. Has full billet servo by GM and shift kit.

The factory 4L60e is not going to cut the mustard with a setup that will run 12's.

Do you think lvl7 4l65 could handle the power or just do 4l80 swap

Yes it should but it would be wiser to go with a 4L80e, its just a better design to handle power. Also you can basically have a stock unit and handle the power to run 12's.

No matter what, I suggest getting a 93 octane live tune ASAP. One of the best bang for your buck mods you can do.

You could probably get high 12s on a beefed up 60/65e with a tvs or old radix.

yeah i have got a mail order tune on its way from Nelson Performance for right now. I figured that would be better than nothing and seen a lot of good comments and they have been great people to deal with. But do have a guy about 2 hours away that I have been talking to about getting live tune work done when I decide which route I want to go next. I have been looking at lt headers but dont know if I should drop the money on them or just go ahead and do the trick tubo kit. But I know with the 4:56 gears I have from what I have read that I am probably more suited for a pro charger.
