Default Nelson or HP tuners?

I know Nelson's tune is simple and easy, but is it possible to get better results form HP tuners? What do you guys think?

with hp tuners you will be doing the tuning yourself. you will need a laptop and ask a bunch of questions on here. or get nelson to tune it for you.

well, your really comparing ls1edit to hptuners. i don't know if one is better than the other one. if you are buying the program hpt is the better deal. you get all the scanning tools to see wtf is going on. edit you have to buy autotap and or efi live and such.

so if you are looking for mail order only and don't plan on tuning your own vehicle then either is fine.

Get both. Nelson will tune it for you and you make minor changes with HP tuners at home.

Does Nelson "lock" his tune, so that it cannot be read or edited? I know Lyndon Westers does that (or used to).

I am not 100% sure but I don't think he locks in his tune. I would definitely consider a Nelson Tune if I were you. I didn't think my truck had that much power in it until I got a tune from Allen. His customer service has been great for me and he is a hell of a nice guy also.

Dude your in Austin. Drive down there and get your tune. It will come out much better if you do it that way. He will ride in your truck, monitor some full throttle runs, and make the tune perfect for your application.
