Hypertech and 3.73 gears gave me .4 and I give all the credit to the HPP. LOL
I want a Nelson tune bad! Whoop *** just installed his and its a night and day difference. With traction he will probably gain about half a second.

Now, Allen is the tuner and I don't know anything about it, but it's still a good amount of timing being pulled. I always thought that when you remove TM, it lessens the amount of timing being pulled through the shift.
This is not the case with my truck. Before and after the Nelson tune, I still see a good 30* of timing being pulled through the shift.
Is this normal?
I wonder what the spark retard limit table is at? I know on my tune I would get 25* pulled until I increased the spark retard limit to 27*. By doing that the timing would go to 27* and increase from there. Your timing will jump around, because each cell in the table is different since timing is not the same at different grams per cylinder. I went to Nelson and had a new flash put in and tuned from there, and the problem with pulling timing is gone (knock problem was cured from the new flash as well). As far as who is a better tuner you will get a difference answer from person to person. Every truck will not react the same with one tune even with the same mods. I have had a couple of differnt tuners help me (both of them are listed in this thread), and the last tuner got my truck to perform at its best so far.

augiedog----he put in a box tune thatevening to see what it would do for the difference. all tqm and then did a reg timing tune on it. .4 was the result.

chingon----what are you using to log it? if any tqm is present the pcm will be able to pull timing. do you have a shift kit? servo's?. if so then the pcm will sense abuse and pull timing.

mac----autotap is what i am using to see if it is pulling timing. that and i watched allen zero out all the tables.mine will climb to 34 to 36 when i go to shift and then back to 29 after the shift and climb again.
