Hello everyone, I am new poster here to LS1tech but have been reading the forums now for about a month. I was wanting a new vehicle for awhile but wanted something I could haul my 4-wheeler around in as well as performance. My buddy owns a lightning and I have thought about 1 but have never really been a big Ford fan. Don't get me wrong they are an awesome truck but reading the forums made me realize the potential the 5.3 has so I took the plunge and bought a Black 04 GMC Sierra RCSB with the 5.3 The first thing I want to do to her is exhaust. Has anyone ran a 3 chamber flowmaster on thier truck? I used to have true duals on my 73 chevy 350 with heads/cam/intake/headers and it sounded mean at high RPM. And is it better to go true duals, or stick with the y-pipe and do a cat back exhaust.

Welcome to the site. I would get the Magnaflow CatBack if I were you. (I did) The sound is not too overwhelming and the power increase is second to none. Also, the system is really made well, being all stainless steel with a polished stainless muffler and tip. Its about the same money as a flowmaster.

Welcome to the boards! I like the sound of Flowmaster's, but the performance gains aren't the best. I've not ever used Magnaflow, but I do have a set of Hooker AeroChamber's ready to take a trip to the exhaust shop when I get mine back on the road.

Hang around and we can get you outrunning that L in no time.

Flyer is right,

With my old N/A setup on your truck and sticky tires you'd be solid in the low/mid 13s!

BTW, Flows don't get rave reviews by hardcore LSx guys.
