Ive found that with a battery light on the the message center that if there is a code in the PCM for a bad L-terminal ( I think) circuit in the alternator. It doesnt. casue a charging problem , just a battery light.I run in to this a couple times at work

Do the 2000 PCM's have that same false knock problem of the 99's?

Ok,
I'm figuring the light doesn't mean anything because my system is fine. It went on as soon as the pcm went in.
Is there any way to get rid of the flashing light?

I would contact the guys that you got the PCM from and let them know what its doing and that it started once the PCM went in. I dont see why they wouldnt send you another one.

My trucks been running great too. I just unplugged my info center screen. Tired of that dam battery light. Not tired of it enough to throw the 99 PCM back in though. But recently Ive got this funky *** stumble sometimes. Like its loaded up and when I mash the gas it feels like its missing or something. Sometimes it does it, sometimes it doesnt. Anybody think this is due to the fact that Im still running 99 injectors with my 02 PCM? I know IFR values are much higher with the 02's. Whos got some 2002 injectors for sale??

Sorry I missed this thread last month, I have an answer.

I recently helped a guy out with a 99 Z71. I sold him a set of 00+ injectors. He had just installed a 2000 PCM in his 99 truck. He had ALREADY installed a 2002 BCM from a tahoe, then an 01 BCM from a Denali. The injectors finished out the mix. He wasn't doing it for the performance benefit (although he said there was a major differnece afterward). He was installing the C3 Denali trip computer and needed the newer programming to run the trip computer.

He said the BCM let his 99 truck have the programmable door locks, theatre dimming lights and head light override features that weren't part of the 99 truck.

Here 2002 tahoe BCM: http://www.pacific-audio.com/perform...es/209003.html

Here 01 Denali BCM: http://www.pacific-audio.com/perform...es/234305.html

He didn't have any problems installing and running the 2000 PCM because he already had the BCM upgraded. At least thats what I think. No battery light, thats for sure.

I spoke to the local shop I go to and they have done a bcm relearn before as well as crank relearn. I'll have it done before it throws a code and let you know how it works out. My last pcm needed a crank relearn but I swapped in a new one so I never did it.
Getting a new bcm wouldn't help me because my truck is a stripper truck with no options and my only goal is to get rid of the light.
