new best gtech and motor goes BOOM
well, got some good news and some bad news. first the good.
ran a bunch of gtech runs today and they were all better than my previous best. i turned of COT and worked on my a/f ratio, got it real close to 12.8-1. it was also COLD, in the teens, that probably had more to do with my good ET's than anything. this is a stock 6.0, stall, upd intake, tuning, i think that is it.
here are some of them.
now for the bad news, i decided to try a nitrous run, the motor went BOOM almost instantly. looks like at least a broken number 2 piston based on a this bent up spark plug i have. i am not sure why it happened but i have a couple of ideas.
i have been looking into a lean spike that seems too long to me, it shows up on the wideband for about 1sec, i called nitrous warehouse and NX and they both tell me it is "normal", well i ordered a new alcohol rated fuel noid anyways cause i dont like it but i dont have it yet. with the recent tuning i may have killed some built in protection from runing a little rich NA and without that the lean spike was too much . another idea is that it is soo cold out and if the noid was a little sticky and slow in the cold it would be worse, i have a litte evidence to suport this, after i shut the truck off the fuel presure would creep down with the truck off, i think the noid wasn't closing and proably didn't even open(just another idea, who knows) .
either way, looks like i will be running a 4.8 with the turbo when is shows or if i can swing the cash get a 409 set up real quick, definately no money for heads but i might be able to swing the short block.

Damn, that really sucks man. Looks like you picked up a few MPH with the stall locked up though.
I doubt that turbo will be anymore laggy than a centrifugal supercharger setup with a stock stall.

I have a block with crank and pistons sitting in my shop that's not being used,I need a set of valve covers oil pan and assorted parts maybe we can work some kind of trade.May you won't need to run the 4.8.
