It all depends on what your goals are, how you plan to use the truck, how many other mods you plan to do, etc. If you plan on putting in a higher stall converter, maybe some gears, headwork, etc, then you can go with a bigger cam. Check out the cam sticky and search for "cam" and I'm sure you'll come up with a wealth of knowledge. As far as overhauling the motor, that also depends on how well it was maintained, if it has blowby, how the oil pressure is, etc. At the very least I'd replace the timing chain and oil pump while you're in there doing the cam swap.

I just want more low end torque and to have topend power cause the 4L80e has a 2.48 first gear which sucks for a Burban. But it has 4.10 gears, so I was thinkin of puttin a higher stall converter w/lockup too. And what kind of rollers should I go with?

Sounds like you're gonna want something like a 212/218 for torque, or if you want more mid-upper, go with a tr220 or tr224, but only get those if you get a larger stall (around 3k).

You'll want to keep stall speed down below 3000 rpm for towing and have a nice big trans cooler. I highly suggest you use the search button at the top of the page and read everything you can about Cams. Torque Converters and Towing.
Cams make power in certain "bands" and there is always a sacrifice. Kick back and read all you can.
