new cam, need help. 4.8 2006 silverado
hey guys im new to this forum, brand new actually. lol i did a quick overview of the forum and didnt find the exact answer i needed, and im short on time. this may be an absolute stupid question, but ive never delt with cams or anything this indepth until 3 weeks ago when my stock cam chewed up a lifter. i replaced the lifter, and 3 days ago it chewed up another one. so i orered a new cam.
this one right here: COMP Cams 54-450-11 - COMP Cams Xtreme Fuel Injected Camshafts - Overview - SummitRacing.com
now, from my reading in the past 3 days on the do's and don'ts with my motor and factory parts, this cam has a valve lift of over 0.500" with intake and exhaust. so stock spring need to go. to play it safe, i wanted to get better pushrods too, and roller rockers.
well i found this kit through summit as well: COMP Cams 54050 - COMP Cams Gen III LSI/LS6 RPM Valvetrain Upgrade Kits - Overview - SummitRacing.com
beehive springs good to 0.600" and hardened factory length pushrods. so that takes care of that.
this is my real question. i was looking at roller rockers, and most are 1.7 and 1.8 ratio. factorys are 1.6 i believe? the cam said these are based on 1.6 ratio rocker arms which is where i made that assumption. now i know NOTHING about duration, thats being said, lets say with this set up i went to a 1.8 rocker. at any point in time should i worry about the valves hitting the pistion?
highly appreciate any and all ansewers! im doing all the work myself at home, with nothing to go by except google, and trial and error. lol
also any suggestions on computer tuning? nothing real local around here... im in Kentucky.

its 2wd.
the cam came in today, putting it in tomorrow, also picking up the heads from pressure testing, ordered some ls6 springs to save some money, and all new GM facotory lifters for $130 off of summit just in case more were damaged than just the 2 i found.
