I was just watching car and driver tv and I saw a piece on the new Chevy Cheyenne concpet truck.

There are a bunch of different websites with info on it and they all talk of a SUPERCHARGED 6.0L V8 with 500hp! After looking at pics of this engine it appears that GM is using a supercharger mounted on TOP of the engine. So what kind of supercharger do you guys think GM is using? A whipple screw type? What about a intercooled magnacharger? Any ideas?

"Under the Cheyenne's front-hinged clamshell hood sits a supercharged 6.0-liter V8 engine that produces 500hp and 580lb-ft. Its surfaces have been polished to a mirror-like sheen and a mammoth carbon fiber air intake dominates the right and front of the compartment to force air into the supercharger."

Looks like the polished version of the new Intercooled Magnacharger.

the supercharger is the new Magnuson Radix intercooled supercharger. It available now go to www.magnacharger.com. I've got one sitting here and going on my suburban next week

If chevy is using the radix intercooled magnacharger then that should say something about the systems quality, reliability, etc.

I wonder if chevy would actually produce a truck with such a supercharger kit?

What kind of supercharger does the Pontiac GTP use? I know its not intercooled. I think its an eaton style supercharger.

I got a flyer from a Chevy dealer here. They offer the intercooled Radix Magnacharger installed with warranty for right under 7 grand. Not bad considering it is like 6 grand to buy it! Also the H2's are coming with the option of the same one <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> If I had the extra 4 or thousand, I would have got it, instead of the ATI Procharger, but the goods thing is, my ATI has a great resale value <img border="0" alt="[worship]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" /> If I can get fuel and what not figured out, I don't expect to have any probs blowing it up.(thanks to some great guys around here! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[USA]" title="" src="graemlins/patriot.gif" /> Sam

Radix Magnacharger's a really nice setup I've had mine for more than a month no problems so far.They did send me a external fuelpump and ask me to remove the MSD boost-a-pump that came with the kit.

Pontiac GTP uses a smaller version of the same supercharger.Magnusen the makers of Magnacharger makes a keyed nose setup for the GTP that allows for easy pulley changes.They put the same setup on the Radix system,so there are lots of different size pulleys available for the system already.
