a beefed up 4l65/60 from what I understand, however I'm not sure on the details.

Wasn't the LQ9 all aluminum also?

The spec sheet seems to be the same for M30/M32/M33/M70/MD6/MK2, so I would guess just internal upgraded pieces.

The tranny behind the tested DOD 6.2L was that new 5 or 6 speed auto.
That's what will be in the new Escalade when it hits the lots.

Hmmm...........6L80...........I like the sound of that.
Now that looks like one awesome transmission
It says the gear box can handle 664ft/lbs of torque

Question

I wonder if the 6L80 could be adapted to our current trucks??
Does anyone have the knowledge of answering if DOD could be added as well??
More than likely not, but I tried.
Do the new 07' use the new CAN system or still OBDII?

AFIK DOD is built into the valley of the block so it won't work on the older blocks. I'd guess the pcm's are a bunch different too. The 6L80 is a different story I'd like to see more about.

I like the idea of adapting the 6L80 to our current trucks! I hope at least that will work.
