Default new guy, engine combo opinions wanted

Hey guys,
I'm new to this forum and would appreciate your thoughts on a engine build I am about to start on. The goal is to use as many factory parts as possible and be as cost effective as I can.
Here is the parts list.
LM7 block.
L33 rotating assembly (factory flat top pistons, floating pins, coated skirts)
LS1 heads (241 castings)
LS1 cam. (maybe switch to a ls6 cam if I find one)
LS1 intake/tb & MAF
All other internal parts will be stock production pieces.
It will have long tube headers, custom cold air intake, no cats, full performance exhaust. (2.5" with free flowing mufflers)
Manual trans

Nothing wild. Just a reliable fun and inexpensive motor.

Has anyone done this? Any thoughts?
This will be going in a 70 camaro, not a daily driver. It will weigh about 3400#.

96 views and no replies? Ok. Even if my idea sucks I want to know. And also want to know why please. I'm not looking for someone to blow sunshine up my ***. I want to know if I am on a decent path with my build. Any opinion is appreciated. Honestly.

i would use 243 heads and and aftermarket cam. a 220/220 would be sweet with that rotating assembly and heads

The only problem I see is the cam choice. There is better cams out there. It's not bad for a budget build.

I have a similar build that I have been working on. My issue right now is the block.

Thanks for the input. I already have the ls1 cam. It was dirt cheap with some other parts so I got it. I would really like to try a ls6 or similar cam.

On the heads you suggested the 243 casting. Will the 241's I have already respond to a bit of porting? Maybe just a general "clean up" and not a full CNC job. Budget is key here. I'd love to build a monster stroker instead but reality says otherwise.

Any other suggestions on parts? Oil pump, lifters, pushrods, gaskets, factory or aftermarket on these items? Which factory parts (ls1, 6, 2, 7 or?) are best?

Keep in mind this is going in a 3500# street car with a manual tranny.
