Just from what I remember reading today:
Axles are 30 spline i believe
LT headers will add roughly 20 horse all said and done as opposed to shorties producing an additional 5-8
As for the cam, a lot of guys around here seem to have the 220/220 and as do I. I'm DDing it on a stock converter and having no problems. That being said, I have lost a bit of low range so a converter would make a huge difference. If you're doing heads too I'm sure you could benefit from something bigger like the 224. Like it has been said, it all depends on what you want from the truck.

also i am planning on building the rear first so i was wondering what all is needed to run a full spool? i found one for an 8.5 30 spline and the bearing kit. what else is needed? yes i know everyone is gonna say not to use a spool but i have had good experiences with them in the past.
