First off i want to say what a great forum , man ive been reading my *** off for the last two weaks straight trying to gather as much info as i can , before i decided to post my first thread .

Well here it goes , i just picked up a used whipple for my 00 ECSB 5.3L i want add a cam to this thing since ive allready got everything tore off the front and the top of this motor pretty much .


These are the two cams im looking into right now , which one would be a better choice for my ECSB and will i need a stall either of them with the whipple on there ? Or if you guys have a better cam suggestion for my truck i would love to hear about it .

How much safe boost can a 5.3L take , is 8psi in the safe range without an IC?

This is my parts list so far and what i plan on needing before i fire this joker up :

Nelson Tune
whipple SC
LS6 springs
Comp 7.400 pushrods
42lb injectors
160º stat
Transgo shift kit
Billet Servo

on down the road ill pick up an Eaton and 3.73's and some LTHeaders .

You have a good list going there. If I were you I would go with a bigger cam. Try to keep the duration between 220-225 and try to get alot of lift 550-580 besides that I think everything looks good. Good luck and talk to you lator

What besides a Transgo shift kit and billet servo would you suggest ?
