Hey guys.

Got a few ideas and I want to know what you all think. Instead of searching through all the threads just thought I would make a new one.

I have a 2006 Silverado flex fuel model (L59) 4x4, RCSB, Z71 package. It also has 3:42 gears. It is a daily driver (for now). I am wanting to get a little more out of it so here are my plans.

-04+ Z06 cam
-04+ Z06 springs
-push rods
-LT headers
-custom tune
-(eventually) STS turbo system

I am guessing that I will be able to get just under 100 HP with the first 5 things, and then 150 HP with the turbo system. Is this reasonable? And would you suggest something different?

Sounds like a good plan, why STS turbo though?

Eh, I would rather do a turbo, instead of a supercharger, plus it is cheaper. I haven't seen too many turbo systems that stood out to me. I am definitely a DIYer too.... Do you have another suggestion, or something to persuade me to a supercharger? I just saw where you have a procharger. Are you satisfied with it? What kind of numbers did it give you? I hadn't really seen them before.

And by the way AK, just got carried away looking at your thread that is linked in your sig. Badass truck man. Do you mind telling me what you gave for the PC? Did you ever get it dynoed?

Also, Im not sure if they beefed up the tie rods on the new body styles, but all of my diesel driving buddies have to put tie rod sleeves in for 4x4 launches, so that might be something to think about. They are cheap, and sorta like the head studs, peace of mind install.

Check out Trick Performance. They make a awesome front mount kit. You would have to run a second oil pump with the sts kit and there is no real way to tell if it fails until your turbo seizes.

What are the goals for your truck? Track star or street?

Definitely street. Most of my close friends have diesels. But I want to surprise them with a gas truck!! I am confident I can

What can you tell me about their system? At first glance, How well does that design work, just coming off of 1 header? You wouldn't be able to add LTs and what about the other side? just use stock exhaust manifold?

Trick makes a crossover so both banks spool the turbo. And with a turbo, there is really no need for LTs lol

My guess would you'll fall a little short of your 100 hp goal. Might want to add in an air intake like the Airaid MIT, although if you are really serious about FI, then that might be a waste.

Thanks for the input guys. The FI will be well on down the road. I already have an intake and true dual exhaust batboy...

I found out this past weekend that the flex fuel injectors are 35# as opposed to the non FF being 26#. Every little thing helps I guess.

First step is cam, springs, rods, and a tune this summer. And then go from there.
