Default new motor or old motor

Dumb question I just want the thoughts on what you think about pulling the 03 4.8 out to put a 00 ls1 in, I think its a good thing

go with the ls1. put the 4.8 heads on the ls1 and put new springs and a nice cam in their. then to really get moving spray the **** out of it. the heads will yield you a higher compression making more power and the cam will make her dance. then the juice will knock her up for yeah.

Yeah, an LS1 has more bore and more stroke than the 4.8...if you have access to an inexpensive one go for it!

I did it, and I love it.

I would stick with the LS1 heads though...they have larger valves. See sig for times.

not to mention, i think almost all of those engines were underrated from the factory. so you start with so much more.

and their about 80 lbs lighter.
