new noise with ASM headers-need some help
i just had the welding done for my ASMs, so now they are completely done.
now when i am under load(uphill , WOT), i hear a ticking/piffing noise that is pretty damn loud.
at idle or a steady cruise i dont hear anything at all, only under load/accelaration.
would could this be. ive checked the collectors, and there is no way they are leaking, and ive retorqued the header bolts as well.
thanks for any help guys.

I would let everything cool off and re-tightnen everything..Just about all headers i have heard make a little sound but im not sure how loud yours is. Is may be possible that you blew out a gasket but who knows.

i went to retorque all the header bolts, and somehow one of them damn well near unscrewed itself all the way out from the drive to my house from the weld shop??(i retorqued them twice already) i tightend it back up for the 3rd time, and no more leaky!
thanks guys

I had my headers installed at ASM, turns out they got a batch of bad bolts that got really brittle and would basically break after being heated up. That happened to both sides on my truck, and the gasket broke and fell out while the bolts were loose. I took it back to them twice (once for each side), and they replaced the gaskets and bolts for free, no problems since then. The original stuff lasted about a week.
If you just retightened the bolts, dont be surprised to see the problem happen again. They know what the problem is, so if you continue to have problems I would call and talk to Ben Benavides. He's really helpful, and got me taken care of very quickly.

the exhaust note is really smoothed out and the resoance alot less too.(wasnt too much to begin with, but any less droan, and iam happy)
as far as revving up, you hit that one right on. it feels soooo much better accelerating. i just wanna keep driving it.

I noticed your sig says !cats...does that mean you got rid of em? Also, what kind of collector gaskets are you using. (starting to formulate a plan for some long tubes, just curious what works well)
