My friend is about it install a new aftermarket posi diff. He already had the stock G80 in his truck but he just got the new posi for a good deal an plus its stronger. I wish I knew what brand it was, cause that might help. But here are just a few question I had.

Will he feel much of a diffrence with the aftermarket one?

Or will it even change the performance of the truck?

An my other friend just changed his fluid out of his rearend an replaced the diff. cover gasket on his 03 scsb, with 3:73s an G80. But he just put some regular cheap fluid in there, an it seem to be doing ok. I thought you were only suposed to put some special fluid in there?

So what would it do to a readend with the wrong fluid, or does it matter?

What rear end he has would tell you how strong it is as G80 in a 10.5 inch 14 bolt or a 11.5 inch one is a LOT stronger than one in a 10 bolt. Did he get a mechical locker maybe?

Auburn does not care and the Eaton should have LSD rated flluid because of its clutch plates.

Eaton advises to use stock fluid with the LSD additive. Just dont use synth, atleast thats what the instructions say

That is basically what I said because a LSD rated fluid is the same as a standard EP lube with a additive. There must be a echo here.
