Default New Poster-Reader, from the DARK SIDE!

Hi... I've posted a couple of notes but want to intro myself. I'm Kevin Hinkley (HInk)

I have an '02 Silverado 5.3 Z71 that I tow my '94 T/A GT, 11.6's on a 50 hit, 11.9's N/A) to the dragstrip with. To get even DARKER than that, I have an '89 GMC Sierra Sportside that I used to show and has run 15.0 with NO TRACTION. It would run 14.8's if I could hook her and by the way, she is still a N/A 350, modded to heck, but N/A.

I am interested in knowing the 'free' mods we can do to our iron based LS1's. I never listened to my LS1 buddies in Camaros and Firebirds as frankly
I didn't care and considered my self in competition with the, with my old LT1 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

Thanks gentlepeople! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

HInk

Welcome, to the board. The "free" mods are the T/B bypass, homemade ram air, T/B bumpstop grind, some do a bb in the t-stat also. Pick your poison and we can let you know how to do it. Have I seen you on some other boards? Keep the questions coming. There are lots of things to do to these trucks.

Yeah... I'm a regular on z28.com. Just thought I'd jump over to John Ryans place and see whts up!

I really do like the LS1 truck forum and asm picking up ideas here. First thing I did was tskee off the 55 gallon muffler and replace it with a Super Turbo. As money becomes available. I'll open it to a true dual system, but the single will work for now.

Next I'll work on the maf screen, done that to the T/A so I know whats going on there. Also drilled a bunch of holes in the stock air cleaner housing (buttom) to allow more air in. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

How do you do the ram air <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

HInk (keep the ideas coming)

You did the swiss cheese air box mod? I though that was only for Duramax.
